What should a new client know about working with you?

We will send you an email before your appointment to complete some intake paperwork. This paperwork is important, as we read it to find all about you! Sessions run 55 minutes. When working with teens or children, the first session is always held with the parents only. Subsequent sessions will be held with the teenagers, and sometimes family sessions if recommended. We may also provide parenting support sessions without the teen or child present. 
When working with patients with eating disorders, Dr. Carelli uses a Health At Every Size, anti-diet approach. Depending on the severity of your eating disorder, she may ask you to see a nutritionist to ensure we are providing you adequate care. She also likes to correspond with your psychiatrist and general practitioner.
We are currently  in-network with Aetna, with Lee Sloan Additionally accepting Cigna. Some insurance plan types (PPO) reimburse part of the session costs. To confirm your benefits, check your insurance website. I can also help you with this by providing a super bill for reimbursement. Additionally, we collaborate with a website which will automatically submit your superbills for you every month called Please ask us if you would like assitance using this service.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After intake, we typically begin with weekly 55-minute sessions. As you progress in therapy, we can transition to biweekly or monthly sessions. We can provide both in-person and Telehealth. If you would like to use telehealth services, you will receive an email and text message with a link to our session, sent from Our cancellation policy is as follows: clients are allotted two late cancellations (within 24-hours) within a year-long period. The third late missed appointment will always be charged. If you cancel before 24 hours, sessions are never charged. Dr. Carelli sees clients either in person or virtually Monday 10:00 am-9:00 pm, Tuesday 11:00 am-9:00 pm, Wednesday 10:00 am -7:00 pm, and Thursday 10:00 am-9:00 pm. Lee sees clients either in person or virtually Monday-Thursday 10:00 am-9:00 pm.


We are in-network with Aetna, with lee Sloan additionally accepting Cigna. superbills can be provided for those whose insurance plans have Out-of-network benefits.
